ISO’s principal activity is the development of technical standards, however, in addition to having important economic and social repercussions, ISO standards make a positive difference to engineers and manufacturers for whom they solve basic problems in production and distribution, and also to society as a whole.

Armstrong products conform to the requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) of 2014. The purpose of the Pressure Equipment Directive was to standardize the national laws of various European countries regarding the design, manufacture, testing and conformity assessment of pressure equipment and assemblies of pressure equipment. The directive specifically affects manufacturers of pressurized storage containers, heat exchangers, steam generators, boilers, industrial piping, safety devices and pressure accessories.

ENERGY STAR CERTIFICATION

Boiler Pressure Vessel and Pressure piping code. This code explain how quality control including Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE)must be conducted. It also defines how quality control program must be deployed into manufacturing for Canadian customers. This design procedure ends up with a CRN (Canadian Registration Number) allowing the part supplier to sell in Canada. Widely inspired by the ASME code, CSA B51 code will address what sections of the original ASME code are applicable for Material, NDE. Every manufacturer must have a Fabrication Authorization. From a manufacturer view, the CSA B51 is a guide to find out which world fabrications codes are applicable.
The Power Piping code is one of the several Sections of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Code for Pressure Piping. Rules for this code has been developed considering the needs for applications in the Power generation Stations, in industrial and institutional plants, geothermal heating systems, and central district heating and cooling systems. This code prescribes the requirements for the design, materials, fabrication, erection, test, inspection, operation, and maintenance of piping system.
The B31.3 is a the ASME Process Piping Code. This code is a section of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Code for Pressure Piping ASME B31. The intent of this code is to set forth engineering requirements deemed necessary for same design and construction of piping installations. Rules for the Process Piping Code Section B31.3 have been developed considering piping typically found in petroleum refineries; chemical, pharmaceutical, textile, paper, semiconductor, and cryogenic plants; and related processing plants and terminals. The code prescribes requirements for materials and components, design, fabrication, assembly, erection, examination, inspection, and testing of piping. The code also address packaged equipment piping where several parts are interconnected.
ASME Sect VIII div I (U stamp):
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers Section VIII div I covers the Pressure Vessels. The division contains mandatory requirements, specific prohibitions, and nonmandatory guidance for pressure vessel materials, design, fabrication, examination, inspection, testing, certification, and pressure relief. The specification is separated in (3) subsections for General Requirements, methods used in fabrication and Specific Requirements applicable. The external inspection process by an independent inspector yields to a “U” stamp.
