Scope of Work:

As there are requirements for electrostatic damage prevention among all electronics manufacturers, in 1995, Motorola had 40 humidifiers installed at the fresh air and return air sections of 20 sets of central air conditioning systems for its newly founded Tianjin electronics plant. Among these 40 humidifiers, 36 units are Armstrong series 9000 steam-injection-type humidifiers and four units from other brand names as a comparison group.

Upgrade Projects:

In 2004, Motorola decided to replace the four comparison humidifiers with Armstrong series 9000 humidifiers during retrofit of its air-conditioning system.

Benefits:

The Armstrong humidifiers installed when the plant was first set up have been running continuously for nearly 10 years with very few needs for maintenance.
