EOS—Energy Optimization System
Armstrong’s Web-based Energy Optimization System (EOS) improves process efficiency and provides access to information from virtually anywhere. Armstrong’s operations and maintenance group has developed this state-of-the- art utility and process optimization system to provide you with the most modern process operation, monitoring and reporting capabilities.
Data acquisition
Instruments, meters and controllers are installed in critical locations within the plant site. An industrial field-mounted controller collects, stores, processes, archives and trends the collected data and displays it on a graphical user interface using a standard Web browser. Authorized users can access it from anywhere, via the Internet.
Custom process optimization
EOS has the capability to monitor equipment and process operations. It can automatically adjust operating parameters to achieve optimal efficiency.
Predictive maintenance
By collecting operational data, EOS can optimize preventive maintenance schedules by using equipment runtime, operational cycles and equipment load information.
Reliability and safety
EOS helps provide a safer and more reliable operation by decreasing operator error with better process data, visual and audible alarms, as well as e-mail notification of abnormal events. Progressive escalation of alarms ensures appropriate response.
Reporting
EOS can generate custom reports for process information, environmental compliance, fuel cost and maintenance routines. It even has the ability to create invoices based on department or tenant sub-metering to enable activity-based costing. Departmental utility invoicing, rather than strict allocation, gives individual departments greater incentive to control costs.
Universal access
Any authorized user can access EOS from anywhere on the Internet through a standard Web browser. There is no need to load special client software on remote computers.
Additional features
EOS has complete building automation system capabilities. With EOS, you can monitor and control HVAC, security, lighting, DCS and PLC systems using built-in Modbus, BACnet and LonWorks communication protocols. The system allows you to collect data from many different platforms and display them on one user interface that can be accessed from virtually anywhere.
