Did you know: Using ionic beds reduces downtime in electronic humidifiers.

Software and Training Materials

Proper sizing and selection of steam components—including steam traps, pressure-reducing valves, pumping traps, water heaters and humidifiers—is critical for maximum energy savings and equipment life. For users, sizing and selection have always been confusing and complex. Now the easy-to-use Armstrong Steam-A-ware™ software program for sizing and selecting steam traps, pressure-reducing valves, pumping traps and water heaters makes these tasks much easier.

Likewise, the Armstrong Humid-A-ware™ program takes the guesswork out of sizing and specifying industrial humidifiers. Armstrong also offers Energy Optimization System, a state-of-the-art utility optimization software program, and SteamStar™. The latter is the first and only Web-based platform for recording, monitoring and managing steam trap information. It is the key to true “best practice” steam trap management.

Training for energy conservation

State of the art software is only one category in a long line of Armstrong tools to help customers maximize energy savings and optimize steam system efficiency. In fact, Armstrong was a pioneer in this field, creating comprehensive hands-on seminars, as well as a complete library of training materials, including handbooks, sectional models and videos.

In a recent survey of plant engineers, plant managers and key maintenance engineers, nearly 90% said there will be a greater need for training in the years ahead. One of the primary targets for training will be steam system maintenance, because of the great potential to save energy and money.

Since building its first steam trap in 1911, Armstrong has been committed to sharing information and technical knowledge about steam energy conservation. Armstrong not only shares this information with its Representatives, but for years it has also conducted seminars at our facilities and at customer sites. Training materials, cutting-edge software and hands-on seminars. They’re all a part of a century-old tradition of sharing knowledge to help others save time, money and energy—a commitment that is embodied in Armstrong University, a comprehensive online resource for training and continuing education.
