During the VA Medical Center visit, Armstrong's audit team, with the valued assistance of Campbell-Sevey personnel, identified, analyzed and developed Energy Conservation Measures (ECM’s) for this program. For each ECM, Armstrong performed detailed field engineering and presented the facility with an Engineering Approval Package (EAP), containing a general arrangement drawing, depicting the plant modifications along with the technical back up. Site personnel subsequently approved and released the individual ECM’s to ASI for implementation, as part of the overall program.
Several ECM’s were implemented, through the installation of quality products and services provided by Armstrong:
ECM 1 – Boiler Continuous Blowdown
ECM 2 – Deaerator Vent
ECM 3 – Steam Traps
ECM 4 – LaundryWash Water Recovery
ECM 5 – 8 Condensate Recovery Projects
The VA Hospital was able to reduce a significant amount of energy losses by implementing several condensate recovery projects and installing related equipment. The ECM’s were implemented on time, and was a complete turnkey solution for the hospital.
