VA Medical Center
Minneapolis, MN
Background:
During the VA Medical Center visit, ASI’s audit team, with the valued assistance of Campbell-Sevey personnel, identified, analyzed and developed Energy Conservation Measures (ECM’s) for this program. For each ECM, ASI performed detailed field engineering and presented the facility with an Engineering Approval Package (EAP), containing a general arrangement drawing, depicting the plant modifications along with the technical back up. Site personnel subsequently approved and released the individual ECM’s to ASI for implementation, as part of the overall program.
Scope of Work:
Several ECM’s were implemented, through the installation of quality products and services by ASI:
ECM 1 – Boiler Stack Economizer
ECM 2 – Boiler Continuous Blowdown
ECM 3 – Deaerator Vent
ECM 4 – Coils and Heat Exchangers
ECM 5 – Steam Traps
ECM 6 – LaundryWash Water Recovery
ECM 7 – Trip Valves
Benefits:
The VA Hospital was able to reduce a significant amount of energy losses by the capture and recovery of steam and condensate. The ECM’s were implemented on time, and was a complete turnkey solution for the hospital.
