Armstrong International is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of this sites steam, compressed air, and refrigeration (ammonia) systems.
Armstrong maintains a crew of five full-time on-site employees who are responsible for the utility systems. This includes an Armstrong site supervisor who has overall responsibility for system efficiency, reliability, and reporting. Responsibilities also include compliance with the New Jersey Toxic Catastrophe Prevention Act for ammonia systems, annual equipment inspections and discovery, and implementation of energy saving measures.
Steam capacity is 50,000 pph (three boilers = one 800 hp and two 600 hp).
Compressed air from one 250 hp and three 100 hp compressors.
Refrigeration has 600 ton capacity with two screw and two reciprocating compressors, cooling towers, etc.
Armstrong discovered and implemented the following energy conservation projects:
Five-year operations and maintenance agreement began in June 2006.
Ocean Spray now has on-site utility expertise motivated to continually reduce cost while focusing onproduction reliability. They also have access to all of Armstrong’s extensiveutility/energy engineering resources.
