Scope of Work:

Armstrong International is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the utilities systems at this dairy and beverage manufacturing and packaging facility. These responsibilities include the steam, compressed air, chilled water, and water purification systems. The utility assets include the following:

  • (3) boilers capable of providing 45,000 pph of steam capacity
  • (2) air compressors representing a total of 200 hp
  • (2) cooling towers
  • (1) 350 ton turbo compressor for process cooling
  • (1) 100 GPM dual chamber reverse osmosis water purifier
  • 48,000 lb ice builder for process cooling
  • All auxiliary steam, condensate, chilled water and compressed air piping

Armstrong will employ full-time on-site management to execute these utility responsibilities.

The agreement also requires Armstrong Service to identify future utility improvement opportunities and recommend cost saving solutions.

Upgrade Projects:

  • Installed in-line water softener to treat boiler make-up water
  • Repaired/replaced failed steam traps, corrected condensate system component in correct installation and added additional traps to maximize condensate return
  • Replaced reverse osmosis membranes and installed an anti-scaling chemical feed system

Time of Service:

5 year term beginning in January 2006.
