The usefulness of a flash tank is often underrated and underestimated. Flash steam is a valuable commodity. It contains valuable BTU's (energy) which can be recaptured to supplement existing steam lines, or heat a process fluid such as water.
Recapturing as little as 200 lb/hr of flash steam can save a company as much as $10,000 over a six-month period based on a steam cost of $10 per 1,000 pounds produced. Either way you slice it; flash tanks are an economical way to recapture otherwise lost energy.
Armstrong International stocks a wide variety of flash vessels; from vertical to horizontal, to horizontal with sparge tubes and drop legs.
