Jehovah-Shalom   "The Lord Our Peace" 

Everyone wants peace in their hearts and peace of mind.  Yet, with all the turmoil that is going on in our world today, our peace can escape us if we allow it to.  It is important to remember what the Word of God says about our time here on earth.  It is possible to live with peace in our hearts and have peace of mind.

Peace, true peace, can only come from the source of all peace.  That source is God.  Anything else fails miserably in its attempt to bring us true and lasting peace.  Wealth cannot bring lasting peace.  Material possessions cannot bring us lasting peace.  Our place in society cannot bring us lasting peace.  Only God can bring us the peace we seek.

Numbers 6:24-26  "The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you;  The Lord lift up HIs countenance upon you, and give you peace."

Psalm 34:14  "Depart from evil, and do good;  Seek peace, and pursue it." 

Psalm 85:8   "I will hear What God the Lord will speak, for He will speak peace to His people and to His saints; but let them not turn back to folly."

Isaiah 26:3  "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You."

John 14:27  "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

Ephesians 2:14  "For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of division between us."

Philippians 4:7  "And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

Colossians 1:20  "And by Him to reconcile all things to Himself by Him; whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace throgh the blood of His cross."

Colossians 3:15  "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in the one body; and be thankful."
