Special Piping Considerations


Ideally, steam system drainage is facilitated by gravity. However, there are two common situations that prevent gravity drainage. These require additional measures to ensure proper removal of air and condensate. They occur when:

  • The trap must be located above the drip point - syphon drainage.
  • The return line must be located above the outlet of the trap, elevating condensate.
