Trapping Distribution Systems
Steam distribution systems carry steam from the boiler to various pieces of equipment within the system. The distribution system can be divided into the following categories:
Steam separators are sometimes incorporated into the distribution system when extremely dry steam is necessary, or where there is a likelihood of excessive priming or foaming from the boiler. Traps should be placed along distribution lines to remove any condensate that has formed due to radiation.
