Absorption Tanks - Trap


Traps best serve this application when they:

  • continuously drain the steam space
  • conserve energy over a long service life
  • vent air at very low pressure (1/4 psig/.02 bar)

These requirements combine to make the float and thermostatic (F&T) trap the best selection for this application. A suitable alternative would be an inverted bucket (IB) trap with an external thermostatic air vent.
